Developmental Services
The Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services financially assists with developmental services and programs that support inclusion for adults with a developmental disability and their families. These services allow them to live, work and participate in a wide range of activities in their communities. Community agencies deliver most of the available services and supports.
Residential Supports
Community agencies provide different residential accommodations that help people with a developmental disability. These include:
- group homes and other supported living arrangements
- specialized residences for people with a developmental disability who have additional needs, such as mental health services
- family homes through the Host Family Program

Directives and Guidelines
Policy directives and guidelines provide more detailed rules and information that community agencies follow when making decisions about services and supports. The policy directives and guidelines are good places to look if you want more detailed information about a policy or if you need answers for specific questions about the laws.
